An Introduction to Your Inner Compass: Exploring Your Values

This free 60 minute workshop is for Women in Medicine (Physicians and APP’s) and is an exploration of values. Shandra Bauer PA-C and Sarah Webber MD will explore what values are, the difference between values vs goals, and how connecting to your values can guide you towards an authentic and meaningful life. There will be a short visualization practice, time for self-reflection and optional group sharing.

As women in medicine, we have been indoctrinated to look outside ourselves for safety, choices, worth, evaluation of good or bad. Connecting to our inner compass through values and embodiment is an antidote to always looking outside ourselves for answers. Our inner compass guides us to look inward for what we need, want, and dream of doing and creating in this world. This doesn’t mean rugged individualism but instead trusting that we have the inner wisdom to move through the world. It means learning (or relearning)  we are trustworthy, wise, and can rely on our own inner knowing to make choices and prioritize what matters most to us. Doing so will help us grow in our authenticity, agency, and well-being.

Many women in medicine have rarely had the opportunity to reflect on their values and yet the need for it is amplified because medical training in many ways perpetuates looking outward for direction. Join us in a free two-part workshop where we introduce key parts of our Inner Compass program for Women in Medicine launching Spring 2024.
